Graphic and interior designer. In 2008 she founded XxY Studio. Over fifteen years her work has spanned visual identities for companies, organisations, product lines, and editorial projects, with a consistent focus on how visual languages develop and change over time.
This program shapes how communication, media, and creative processes come together in the digital age — combining design skills with technology, strategy, and management. It’s a discipline built on visual and multimedia communication, digital tools, and artificial intelligence, and on how these elements are reshaping the creative professions.
At the heart of the course, creative practice stays in constant dialogue with technology and strategy: over three years, students move from foundational visual and technical skills to the ability to design, manage, and direct complex communication projects using AI-driven tools. Creative vision and critical thinking grow together, project after project, toward genuine professional autonomy.
In an age where digital tools and AI are reshaping every creative process, what makes the difference is the ability to combine technical mastery with strategic and critical thinking — this is what today’s communication, media, and creative industries are looking for.
First year: foundations
The first year builds a solid base: photography, computer graphics, direction (regia), and the methodology of visual communication design, alongside multimedia languages. Theoretical grounding comes from the history of contemporary art, the theory of perception and Gestalt psychology, and the aesthetics of new media. Marketing and management, the history of design, and English for artistic communication complete the year.
Second year: development
Students deepen their technical and strategic skills: advertising communication, computer graphics, art direction, multimedia design, web software, and digital video. The theoretical framework grows with the phenomenology of contemporary arts, design methodology, and the sociology of communication — building the analytical tools needed to understand how communication functions across agencies, companies, and digital platforms.
Third year: professional identity
The final year focuses on strategic and creative autonomy: brand design, interaction design, integrated new media techniques, and the ethics of communication. Professional development is addressed directly through “progettazione della professionalità,” alongside the semiotics of art and the semiology of exhibition systems. The program concludes with a final project (Prova Finale) — an original communication and/or media design project developed under faculty supervision, integrating design, strategic management, and technological innovation, including AI tools.
